Episode 1 Love
In this episode, our gang get a better look at the ups and downs of being in love.
Charlie gets support from Tori about saying the words for the first time.
Nick tries to be understanding, though his concerns for Charlie continue to grow.
Isaac opens up to Charlie about being AroAce.
When confronted, Charlie is not ready to face the truth and clings to his denial.
Tara is finally honest with Darcy about their living arrangements.
Nellie remains the most beautiful puppy ever. Rest in peace sweet Echo.
Charlie finally gets the words out. But his timing leaves something to be desired.
So Nick makes him do it again.
Tori teasing and encouraging Charlie to be honest with Nick about his feelings is both sweet and proof that she’s the best older sister.
It isn’t Heartstopper with the completely adorable “Hi” scene!
Tao and Elle are so adorable. They just always seem to have so much fun together. Well, when Tao isn’t being all self-conscious and worried.
I love Isaac asking Charlie if he’s okay and commenting about how stressed out he looks. Isaac may be quiet and have his nose in a book all the time, but he is also the most observant of the friend group. And the one with the most empathy. Just a few of the reasons Isaac is my favorite.
I love how understanding and accepting Charlie is when Isaac is talking about being Asexual and Aromantic. Even though Charlie doesn’t know what Aromantic is, he’s willing to learn. As an AroAce, myself, I can say just how important this is and how much this scene means to me.
I don’t know what kind of fish they are eating, but I want one!
This scene is also so important. Nick noticing Charlie struggling with the food in front of him and the idea of eating. Such a good boyfriend.
I love that Nick goes to Charlie and offers to take him, and their food, somewhere private. And when Charlie says he’s not hungry, Nick doesn’t push it.
Isaac teasing Tao about Elle is hilarious. And, let’s be honest, after Tao’s behavior when Charlie and Nick were first ggetting together, he deserves this.
This conversation between Nick and Tara is so important It’s good that they know they can talk to the other about anything and everything. Everyone needs someone like that.
Poor Charlie. The way he freezes when Nick says that he thinks Charlie has an eating disorder. He was definitely not expecting that and it definitely sent him into a spiral.
And poor Nick. He knew, by Charlie’s reaction, that he threw Charlie. I don’t which one of them that I feel worse for.
I love that Isaac sent Charlie the link on Aromanticism.
And I love Charlie’s reaction.
Okay so I have an issue. Last season, Sarah told Nick that Charlie couldn’t go on their trip because she had already booked the tickets. But Sarah ends up having to cancel. So why can’t Charlie have her ticket and go?
Dear Hecate, is Darcy the messiest person ever?? I admire Tara’s restraint in not yelling at her. I couldn’t have done it.
It’s great how understanding Darcy is when Tara says that she needs space and that Darcy should move in with her grandma. You can tell she’s hurt. But she gets it. And that’s what she chose to focus on.
Nellie waiting outside the door for Nick to finish his shower is the cutest thing ever.
Charlie!! How are you going to say ‘I love you’ for the first time, through a closed door? Then get upset when Nick doesn’t answer?? You sweet, silly boy.
Nick chasing him down, barefoot and still wet from the shower, is so sweet.
The way Charlie lights up, it’s so clear how relieved he is.
And Nick’s face when Charlie says the words, again - they are way too adorable.
See ya next time for Home
